Triumph Aerospace Systems - Newport News supports its engineering expertise with fabrication and assembly expertise in manufacturing for customized solutions of complex components, assemblies and integrated systems. Typically, our customers need custom prototypes or a limited production run of a component to meet a larger development project specification. We are recognized for the speed with which we can transfer a customer requirement into a low-cost, reliable hardware deliverable.
Our manufacturing resources are located in Newport News, Virginia. Among our state-of-the-art resources are 3-, 4-, and 5-axis conventional and CNC machining, computer aided machining (“CAM”) software tools, multi-axis conventional and programmable wire EDM, composite fabrication and manufacturing, and electronic/electrical sub-system/system fabrication with integration into mechanical systems.
We
also offer a
broad array of vertical and horizontal milling machines and lathes configured
specifically to support both our traditional core business as well as expanded
product opportunities. These machine shop resources accommodate a large
range of physical part sizes as required to support customer requirements.
Our machining capabilities are also called upon to support in-house composites fabrication. Though metal tooling is not always required for composites, our personnel are skilled in producing precision metal tools in support of the composite fabrication process.
As part of its fabrication and assembly offerings, Triumph Aerospace Systems - Newport News also builds and routes complex electromechanical instrumentation systems that include rakes and probes, strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and other types of sensors. This activity requires a high skill level to ensure that sensors operate in a reliable manner throughout the life of the test program.
We use a formal, ISO 9001-certified quality system to control all processes and verify compliance of raw materials, fasteners, and finished parts to customer specifications, tolerances, and requirements. In support of our focus on Quality, we employ a rigorous inspection process wherein our quality assurance personnel utilize a variety of tools including height gages, calipers, optical comparators, and sophisticated, state-of-the-art coordinate measuring machines to determine actual part geometries and compliance with the defining drawing or CAD model.
